THE LAST EXTERIOR JOBS SHOULD STILL BE DONE THE RIGHT WAY.
September changes the exterior painting calendar in Michigan.
The days get shorter. Overnight temperatures begin to matter more. Morning dew hangs around longer. And eventually, there simply aren't as many good exterior painting days left.
What shouldn't change is the process.
A surface like this still needs to be cleaned. Loose and failing paint still needs to be removed. Bare areas still need the proper primer. Repairs and caulking still need to be addressed. And the finish coat still needs the right conditions to dry and cure properly.
Getting close to the end of exterior season isn't a reason to hurry through those steps.
Sometimes the right answer is to paint it now.
Sometimes the right answer is to wait until spring.
Knowing the difference is part of doing the job correctly.
